Boxing Foundations and Conditioning ~ Youth Athletic Development


Our Foundations Program and the Strength and Movement Programs are led by our Head Trainer Gavin Barrett.

Our Boxing classes are led by Tracey Barrett. With over 25 years of boxing experience she is a retired professional fighter. Since retiring from competing, she has been in the gym working and growing as an athlete and looks forward to sharing years of knowledge with you.

Youth Athletic Development Program

Classes led by Gavin Barrett and Cole MacKenzie.

Gavin works with small or large groups and teams.

Foundations Program

Focuses on fundamental exercise, proper form, and basic fitness principles to help you build a solid base. Knowledge will be gained in various types of workouts, including strength training, cardiovascular exercise, and flexibility routines. Emphasis is on injury prevention, as you are guided on each exercise to ensure proper technique.

Overall, the foundations program aims to empower you with the knowledge and skills to pursue a healthier and more active lifestyle.

Boxing Fundamentals and Conditioning

This class will focus on teaching the fundamental boxing techniques, footwork, and defensive maneuvers. Conditioning drills include skipping rope, shadow boxing, partner drills, and circuits to build endurance, strength, and agility. Core strength is emphasized to enhance stability and power in punches. Overall, this program is designed to provide a comprehensive foundation for both technical boxing skills and conditioning.

  • This program progresses quickly as we learn foot work and punches to add partner drills and conditioning circuits. You will need to become comfortable working with different partners. Commitment to the classes will help you progress with the group allowing for fun punching drills and combinations. There is only light technical work, no sparring.

  • A skipping rope is needed as well as your own pair of boxing gloves. We incorporate strength and conditioning exercises that promote movement requirement for the sport. Indoor shoes and a water bottle.

  • The program is good for either someone interested in learning a new skill or looking to sharpen some previous boxing experience. Classes move quickly and will push you through challenging movements.

Youth Athletic Development Program

Strength training is a vital part of athletic development. Tailored for ages 12-15, our program is aimed at strengthening fundamental movement patterns, improving mobility and balance, as well as instilling a love for physical activity.
